Freezer Burn 2025 is ramping up and you, yes YOU are cordially invited to CREATE! Some art that is!
The Freezer Burn ARTery, Art Grant and Art Grant Finance Teams would love to welcome you back to a new year!
We had an even more successful year with the new website and we are excited to have an even better year this year(now that we are super practiced with the ins and outs of its usage and abilities). We have made some adjustments to hopefully clarify some questions we had last year and defined wording so that there should be less questions this year. Thank you to you for your feedback. We don’t grow unless we know!

The Freezer Burn ARTery Team is excited to announce the dates for the 2025 event art grant streams AND……..We are even more excited to announce 2 NEW grant streams for the 2025 event! SAY WHAT!?!?
Please allow the Freezer Burn ARTery team to introduce you to……..
The Tip of the Ice Berg (Only 2 Progression Grants are Available up to $3000 each with possible 50% advance payment **advance funding will be provided at the same time as The Big Burg Grant**)
This New Grant stream has been created with those BIG projects in mind. Those projects that the artist has dreamed up a creation that is a multi year growth project. We know that sometimes you only have the ability and finances to start at maybe level one of your dreamed up project and bring it to our event but you have a plan to add onto it and create BIGGER! We want to help you with that! With the creation of this Grant Stream you now have the opportunity. There will only be 2 Grants awarded in this category for the 2025 event. Application times are short with this one as you should already know what your plan is for project expansion. If neither of these grants are applied for and awarded the money held for them will be diverted back into all of the other grant streams for the year. Please see the website for more details.

The Great Migration (4 Art Transportation Grants available up to $500 each)
This New Grant Stream has been created to foster inclusivity and support for artists that want to bring their completed art to share but need that extra help with transportation coming from greater distances than the Alberta Core. This grant stream is entirely dedicated to transportation expenses. Please see the website for more details.

REMINDER: The system is definitely a little different from what you are used to if you’ve applied for art grants in the past. So if you are a previous applicant or a brand new creator, take your time and read very carefully. Seriously, take your time and read through everything!
One really exciting change is that you will be able to save your “in progress” grant application and come back to it to edit BEFORE you submit it. We also ask that you take the time to do some research in regards to the anticipated expenses you are submitting as you will be asked to itemize (roughly) these expenses in this new system.
